(HONG KONG, May 26) -- More than 400 students from 11 Hong Kong universities and colleges held a candlelight vigil on Saturday to mourn victims of the 8-magnitute earthquake in southwestern China's Sichuan Province, Wenweipo reports.

Hong Kong Executive Council Convenor Leung Chun-ying and President of Hong Kong University Tsui Lap-chee were among the mourners in the one-hour vigil, which featured hand-to-hand passing of the light and songs encouraging disaster relief efforts in the quake-devastated areas.

Mr. Leung called on students to continue to make contributions to the reconstruction efforts in the quake-hit areas.

As hundreds of Hong Kong students have applied to offer volunteer services for relief efforts in Sichuan, the organizers said they would make proper arrangements.
