(BEIJING, April 13) – Innovative bullet trains will soon run between Beijing and Tianjin, Tianjin's City Express newspaper reported.

The China Railway High-speed 3 (CRH3) trains are slender, which reduces noise and air resistance, and have a structure that will last at least 20 years, an engineer told the newspaper.

Built using light aluminum alloy, equipped with high-speed steering gear, and made to be crash- and fire-proof, the trains will offer high speed, comfort and security to commuters. In addition, the train will be painted and styled using methods and products that fully meet international standards for environmental protection.

Some of the CRH3's features include:

-- Wheelchair-friendly washrooms

Wider, wheelchair-friendly washrooms will provide ease of use for passengers in wheelchairs or with a disability. There is also a fold-out bed provided for babies. The washroom will also have a button that users can press in the event of an emergency.

-- Drinking water available in every train

Each train will have its own kitchen and bar, among other facilities, and will provide services such as hot water and food. Drinking fountains are also available in the train.

-- Emergency exits

Passengers will be able to quickly vacate the train in the event of an emergency by pressing a button located near doors and windows.

-- Automatic wipers on the train's headlights

The headlights of the CRH3 train will have automatic wipers to maintain the brightness of the lights during rain.

In addition, the chairs of the train will be able to rotate 180 degrees, facilitating face-to-face conversations between passengers. The VIP cabin will be equipped with LCD screens.

The trains are designed to run at a speed of 200km per hour along the 135km city passenger rail line when it begins operations this year, news reports said.
