Photos: 'Ireland Week' debuts in Beijing

(BEIJING, March 17) -- Wearing face paintings of the Irish national flag and the national symbol of the shamrock, bagpipers, parade dancers from Ireland converged along Beijing's Wangfujing Street to celebrate "Ireland Week" on Sunday, reported China News Agency.

In China for the first time, the activity, an effort to promote Sino-Irish cultural exchange, brought dozens of Irish art troupes, local students and mutual friendship promoters together on the street.

Ireland Week, in Beijing from March 16 to 21, covers a wide range of cultural traditions and gives Beijing residents a chance to sample Irish music, classic and modern dance, photography and visual performances.
