Engineers and construction workers of the Shanghai Urban Construction (Group) Corporation and the Shanghai No. 2 Municipal Engineering Co., Ltd recently succeeded in extending the Yuejiang Tunnel in Shanghai at South Xizang Road. The tunnel now crosses beneath Line 8 of the Shanghai Metro.

At closes proximity, the tunnel is only 2.68 meters away from the Line 8 subway tunnel. To complete this project, the operation of Line 8 was halted for 10 days. The metro line will soon resume full operation.
