The new CCTV Headquarters, which stands 234 meters tall, is in the process of having a glass surface installed. The CCTV building will be ready for use on January 1, 2009, and the Television Cultural Centre (CCTV) will be ready this August to accommodate live broadcasting of the Olympic Games.

Time Magazine called the CCTV Headquarters one of the top ten "Architectural Marvels of 2007." In September, CCTV will hold its 50th anniversary celebration at the new headquarters.
