Anderson, who meet wild card John Isner in the second round, fired 10 aces en route to victory.

The 27-year-old Llodra was enjoying a successful start to his campaign, winning two titles and posting a 14-3 record before the setback.

In other seeded action Tuesday, No. 5 Peter Starace of Italy had three aces without a double fault en route to a 7-6 (7/5), 6-0 triumph over Argentine Carlos Berlocq.

The only seeded player yet to play is No. 3 Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus, who will square off against Vincent Spadea. Baghdatis and Spadea, who have not squared off since 2006, have split their first two career meetings.
