(BEIJING, February 18) -- The 2008 Tornado World Championship will race off New Zealand's Takapuna Beach from February 22 to March 1. A total of 46 nations will come for this World Championships, which doubles as the final Olympic qualifier for three tickets.

Two from the top ten groups in the world ranking will not take part in the race, including No. 1 Darren Bundock and Glenn Ashby of Australia and No. 2 and reigning World Champions Fernando Echavarri and Anton Paz of Spain. Lin Bo, Yang Xuefeng, Lu Anjie and Zhuang Xuehai, who did not take part in the Qingdao 2006 International Sailing Regatta, will be China's representatives at the race.

As the host to the Olympics, China has automatically gained a berth.

A total of 12 countries, including China, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, England, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and America have already booked their spots at the Olympic Games.
