WASHINGTON, Feb 3, 2008 - Kobe Bryant scored 30 points, 19 of them in a breakout opening quarter, and the Los Angeles Lakers routed Washington 103-91 here Sunday in a National Basketball Association game. Bryant, second only to Cleveland's LeBron James among NBA point producers with 28.4 a game, outscored the Wizards 19-15 by himself in the first quarter as the Lakers rolled to a 30-15 edge in the first 12 minutes and never trailed. Shooting 65.8 percent from the field in the first half, the Lakers seized a 63-41 half-time lead and stretched the second-half margin as large as 26 points before Washington trimmed the deficit against reserves in the final minutes. Serbian forward Vladimir Radmanovich added 15 points for the Lakers, who also had 14 points from Lamar Odom and 13 more from French center Ronny Turiaf. Antawn Jamison led the Wizards with 21 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. The Lakers, who will welcome Spanish big man Pau Gasol to the lineup Tuesday at New Jersey, improved to 30-16 while the Wizards, whose top playmaker Gilbert Arenas remains sidelined by a knee injury, fell to 24-22.
