Stefan Nystrand tops the men's 100m freestyle event.
(Beijing, February. 3) -- The "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Swimming China Open commenced its third-day races at the National Aquatics Center Sunday, with Swede Stefan Nystrand grabbing the title of the men's 100m freestyle event.
Nystrand boasts the 2007 best result in the 100m free event with a time of 47.91, and he broke the 50m and 100m short course world records at the swimming World Cup in Berlin last year.
Commenting on his result today, he noted: "It's not so good and I hope I can make it better later."
For the Beijing Olympic Games, Nystrand said that some ten other swimmers around the world could make troubles for his medal project, including Frenchman Alain Bernard and Filippo Magnini of Italy.
As for the new Olympic swimming schedule, which has been changed from evening to morning, he revealed, "I'm still fond of racing in the evening, but it has been decided now and I can't change."
