Mobilization meeting for the Paralympic Games preparationsTuesday morning, BOCOG held a mobilization meeting regarding the preparatory work for the Paralympic Games. In order to further reinforce the leadership surrounding the Paralympic preparations and to consolidate the teams, BOCOG has decided to establish a command department for the preparatory work for the Beijing Paralympic Games. BOCOG Executive Vice-President Liu Jingmin will lead the department, whose functions would include planning the preparations for different periods and coordinating with the International Paralympic Committee and national-level organizations for people with a disability. Deng PufangLiu Jingmin appealed to the various officials, departments and venue management teams at the meeting to step up organizational leadership and supervisory measures accordingly. He stressed the importance of ensuring that the preparations for both the Paralympic and Olympic Games are basically in order by April 30, on the 100-day countdown for the Paralympic Games. Officials at the meetingDeng Pufang, president of the China Disabled Persons' Federation and executive president of BOCOG, pointed out the significance of preparing for the Paralympic Games, as a successful Paralympic Games could be a catalyst for building a civil and harmonious society.
