2,008 treasures of Chinese culture to be exhibited during the Games

(BEIJING, March 03) -- An exhibition of Chinese artistic treasures will display a total of 2,008 precious items here during the Beijing Olympic Games, reported the Beijing Daily.

These treasures will be selected from a nation-wide solicitation campaign launched during the 5th Beijing Olympic Cultural Festival in July 2007.

"We are looking forward to precious collections from private collectors," said the campaign's organizer.

During the Games, the exhibition will display treasures in 10 separate categories: bronze ware, sculpture, porcelain, Chinese calligraphy, painting, folk art, monetary coin, furniture, jade articles and religious utensils.
