BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- The drawing of lots for the men's volleyball Olympic qualifying tournaments was conducted in Japan on Monday.

    The process was conducted in Tokyo by FIVB First Executive Vice President Wei Jizhong to decide entry to the qualifying tournaments in Tokyo of Japan, Espinho of Portugal and Dusseldorf of Germany.

    The winner of each tournament will qualify for the Beijing Olympics. In Tokyo, the winner of the tournament plus the best Asian team (even if the winner is Asian) will qualify for the Olympic Games.

    The Espinho tournament will be held from May 30 to June 1 with the participation of Indonesia, Puerto Rico, Poland and host Portugal.

    Chinese Taipei, Cuba, Spain and host Germany will take part in the Dusseldorf tournament slated for May 23 to 25.

    Brazil, Russia, Bulgaria, Egypt, Serbia, United States and Venezuela have already qualified for the Beijing Olympics through FIVB 2007 World Cup or continental qualification tournaments, while China has qualified as the host country.
