(BEIJING, Feb. 24) -- Based on statistics from the past 30 years, the average temperature in Beijing during the Olympics will be 24.9 degrees, which will be comfortable. The chance of days with the temperature above 35 is only 0.4%. Some people worry that the temperature during the Olympics may exceed 35 degrees, which would be cause great challenge to the athletes. The historical records from the last 30 years show that this worry is unnecessary. After August 7, Beijing will enter into autumn, when the temperature and humidity will become more comfortable for athletes. The statistics show that there were only two days when the highest temperature exceeded 35. Furthermore, during the day in August, when the temperature peaks, the humidity is always the lowest, and vice versa. Therefore, the weather will not be very sultry.
