New Year's cards highlight Olympics

The International Society of Olympic Historians makes debut in the cover of its New Year's calendar with a big "8", the favorite number for the Chinese people. On the page of August, photos of Beijing Olympic medals, the National Stadium and the National Aquatics Center are displayed.

The Beijing Olympic Games have become a common theme of the 2008 New Year's cards of many organizations in the world.

What Madam Liang Lijuan collects reflects the trend. Liang, wife of He Zhenliang, a member of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee, donated all such cards she possessed to the People's Daily.
