The scene of the ceremony (Photo credit: cnsphoto)(HONG KONG, February 20) -- With only 200 days to go before the Beijing Paralympic Games, a welcome ceremony was held in the co-host city of Hong Kong to warm up for the sports gala especially for people with a disability, the China News Press reported. The ceremony, organized by the Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR government and the HK Paralympic Committee & Sports Association for the Physically Disabled, attracted hundreds of local students with a disability and their parents, as well as some HK Paralympians. Officials from the organizing organs urged locals and people with a disability to take part in more celebrations in HK to warm up for the Paralympics. And at the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games, HK Paralympians made a best performance in medal tally with 11 golds, seven silvers and one bronze medal. As the host city for Beijing Olympic and Paralympic equestrian competitions, Hong Kong and its citizens have gone through steady preparations for the upcoming Games.
