ANKARA, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- The International Federation of Volleyball (FIVB) assigned Turkish referee Umit Sokullu duties at the 2008 Beijing Olympics on Wednesday, the semi-official Anatlia news agency repoted.

　　    Sokullu served as a referee at the 2004 Athens Olympics, said the report, adding that Sokullu was the first Turkish referee ever to serve in Olympics in the volleyball.
